Slim CD cases (a.k.a Slimline or superslim) have a similar design to the standard Audio Album Jewel Cases in as much as they are the same width and height, but much slimmer in thickness.

When used for disc storage, they use up only half the space of standard cases, this is achieved as there is no rear inlay option.
 

The Slim Line CD Case does not have the option for the printed rear inlay like the Jewel case..

Slimline CD cases are just 5.2 mm thick and are sometimes referred to as 5.2 cases. They are available with clear frosted, or black trays. The Slim Line Cases are made from high quality plastic with clear hinges.

The Slim Line CD case has a slightly different construction compared to the standard Jewel Case. The hinge mechanism is inverted with the pivot arms attached to the lower part of the case rather than the clear cover side. It is a two-piece case unlike the Jewel Case which is a three-piece base construction.

SlimLine cases are ideal packaging for DVD Videos as well as CD EPs & Albums, games discs and PC software / data discs providing space for a printed insert or booklet at the front. A 5.2 case is an easy and convenient way of storing and archiving your CD DVDs.
